Management had selected the Odyssey Technology platform based on its multi asset class and currency capabilities. Developed an iterative project plan designed to allow development to produce an initial slice of functionality to validate the acceptance criteria for selecting this vendor. Developed business requirements for this R0.1 release and worked closely with the development team to build out and test the functionality. Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco April 2007 to June 2007 Business Analyst brought in to review a short list of back office vendors to replace the existing systems. Reviewed vendors’ ability to process fixed income and derivatives for complex structured products offered to the Bank’s members. Process involved developing a gap analysis of the current environment and determining how each vendor could address these gaps as well as new features requested by the business. Implementation planned for 2008. Mellon Capital Management: Performance Management Group October 2006 to April 2007 Project manager for a PACE portfolio performance implementation. Initial portfolios selected had $100 billion in assets and were mostly equity oriented stand alone and fund accounts. Managed the development of business requirements to source the portfolio data from multiple systems of record. Systems included Portia 6.0 for holdings and transactions activity and internal applications for account history and investment objectives. Additionally, managed the development and testing of “pre processing” applications to take the source data output and condition it so it could be loaded into PACE given its uploader requirements. Coordinated the development and testing efforts in the development environment as well as successfully migrating the application to the QA environment for UAT. . Barclays Global Investors: Hedge Fund Services Group April 2006 to October 2006 Project manager for enterprise wide investment platform. Company is consolidating its various portfolio management systems to one unified platform over a multi year period. Managed the initial proof of concept iteration using Agile project management principals. Ran daily stand ups with development managers and resolved any blocking issues to maintain momentum. As blocking issues appeared, managed “spikes” to resolve or to change scope as needed. Initial proof of concept involved migrating two diversified funds with multiple asset types and currencies to the Calypso based target platform. Wells Fargo Bank: Internet Services Group April 2005 to April 2006 Business analyst for consumer internet projects for Wells Fargo’s online banking site. Developed business requirements for multiple projects to enhance existing functionally or to introduce new features. Followed Wells Fargo’s extensive documentation requirements which are currently being modified to conform with RUP principals. This included developing use cases and iterative development cycles. Participated in a two day RUP training course sponsored by the Bank. Charles Schwab & Co.: Cost Basis Portfolio Management System April 2002 to April 2005 Implemented a cost basis portfolio management system designed by Eagle Investment Systems, Inc. Participated in the full life cycle of the project. Activities included identifying gaps between Eagle’s standard application and Schwab’s requirements. Worked with Eagle and Schwab to develop an application implementation plan that prioritized desired functionality with given resources. Used RUP methodologies to gather requirements, generate use cases and develop a vision document to define the effort. Managed the design and implementation of integrating Schwab’s security master to Eagle’s. Designed and executed extensive testing scripts to validate functionality for all products and activity offered by Schwab. Products included fixed income, equities and options. Activities included all trade scenarios, security master maintenance, corporate actions, amortization/accretion and cancel rebook/ roll back replay functionality. Managed the performance testing effort that established volume and activity benchmarks for the current Schwab implementation. Straight Thru Processing (“STP”) for T+1 Settlements September 2001 to December 2001 Developed a processing model based on previous efforts to address the proposed reduction in the security settlement cycle from T+3 days to T+1 days. Worked with various venture capital and consulting firms to identify customers and fund development. Project put on hold based on industry decision to postpone T+1 implementation. Bank of America: New Account Management System. November 1997 to April 2001 Managed the design and implementation of a Web enabled new account management application for Bank of America’s Institutional Broker/Dealer that consolidated and centralized the process of opening and maintaining investment accounts. Responsibilities included gathering all business requirements and analyzing current processes and systems in numerous diverse business units located throughout the country. Through joint application design sessions (“JAD”), created new processes and workflows that eliminated bottlenecks, reduced cycle times and took full advantage of Web based technologies. Bank of America: Imaging/Workflow System June 1995 to November 1997 Re-engineered and implemented the backoffice workflows of Bank of America’s Retail Broker/Dealer to improve efficiencies, allow for volume increases and to better comply with industry regulations and T+3 settlement requirements. Replaced the existing “paper” based processes with state of the art technology including imaging, ICR/OCR engines and online workflow applications. The technology solution included a Filenet imaging system that was managed by a custom Powerbuilder workflow application. Images were captured by either high-end scanners or introduced through various processes including fax servers or customized image commit programs. Data from the images was extracted utilizing Cardiff Software’s ICR/OCR engines. Section 20 System Consulting: Bank of America, First Union Bank and Key Bank. December 1992 to June 1995 Advised three top ten U.S. commercial banks on how to restructure their broker/dealer subsidiary to achieve Section 20 Federal regulatory approval to expand product lines offered to their clients. Efforts included updating systems, improving credit/risk reporting, establishing “firewalls” for compliance, re-designing workflows and writing procedural manuals.
